Dr. James Walter Swiatowy

Swiatowy, Dr. James Walter September 12, 1959 - January 9, 2025 Dr. James W. Swiatowy passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, he spent his childhood in Kenmore and Williamsville before returning to the area to build a life with his wife, JoAnn, and their daughter, Ava. Jim was a graduate of Nichols School (Class of 1978), the University of Rochester, and New York University, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He joined his father, Dr. Anthony J. Swiatowy, in their Kenmore dental practice before relocating it to Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda. Known for his dedication, Jim often worked late hours to meet the needs of his patients and formed lifelong connections with many of them. He had a passion for skiing, tennis, music, and fine dining and was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. Jim's warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn (née Dent); his daughter, Ava; his brother, John Swiatowy (Laura Vallone); his sister, Susan Wolf (Craig Wolf); his mother-in-law, Patricia Wisniewski; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Dr. Anthony and Irene Swiatowy. A Mass in his honor will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Church, located at 5480 Main Street, Williamsville, New York 14221, on Saturday, January 25th, at 9:30 am. Jim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
