Denise and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much you all loved your mother. I liked her too. She always kept me up to date on things, gave you newspaper clippings to give to me. What a wonderful lady. She will be missed. I am sending prayers your way. May all of the memories comfort you at this time. Hugs to you Deni. Sorry I could not be there. I am still without a car.

Dear Spring Children,
I only met your parents six years ago when I had the great fortune to move across the street from them. What wonderful neighbors they turned out to be. Jean was the epitome of the gentile woman; soft spoken, always a kind word, an offer to help. She always asked about my parents and children. And I must admit she did a little bragging about her kids and grand kids too. She really was your biggest fan!
We always knew when they were "receiving company" because their lawn chairs would be in the drive with Jean and Don perched and ready to visit. I wasn't the only one who dropped in, extra chairs were ready and waiting all of us. Neighbors all knew your parents and stopped to see them. They had their own little retirement community. Because of their welcoming nature and ability to listen rather than talk those chairs were always full!
I shared cups of tea, books, and movies with your Mom. Her mind was active and bright and she kept me on my toes!
I have always been so impressed with the calm acceptance your parents both exhibited as they faced life's challenges. I imagine their faith was the reason for that peace. What a model for us all.
I knew Don and Jean in such an informal, casual way however their humor, compation, and kindness were evident from the beginning!!
Here's to you Jean. Thank you for the gift of your friendship.

To My Counsins:
What can I say Aunt Jean was a wonderful person. She was so special to each and everyone of us in a different way. Remember the good time and that will help heal. I do remember the days when the whole clan came to visit and when Aunt Kay, Uncle Jerry and I came to visit in MI. I will also remember when Joe, Sal & I came to Periora with Uncle Hank that was a relaxing visit. Right now the whole Pohlman clan is together watching us and protecting us. May God Bless you all. Let try and keep in touch.

To my cousins -
In loving memory of a wonderful family member. Aunt Jean always had a special place in my heart, as my godmother and as a person. I remember the days when your family and our family spent a lot of time together when you came to visit Buffalo. Most of my faith in God and life comes from the little things that your Mom taught me that now matter the most in life. I know she is in a special place being reunited with Uncle Don and the rest of her family that she was always so good to; and know you have guardian angels to watch over and protect you.

Dear Cousins,
The last time I saw Aunt Jean and Uncle Don was when they visited our home here in Eden, NY, several years ago. It was wonderful to see them and we shared a great afternoon full of remembrances and laughter. They were my god-parents and always sent a gift on my birthday when I was little. I loved getting those packages! My heart is sad to learn of your loss, but I am sure Uncle Don and the angels are rejoicing that she, too, is home with our Lord.
In sorrow and Christ's love,
Sue

Dearest cousins...we were so sad to receive the news of your mom -- I am sure the loss of your dad left such a huge hole in her heart -- with our faith, we know that she and your dad are together again -- as they should be. May God bless you all -- if life's travels ever take you through Michigan, you always have family here who would love to see you. God bless!

My dear cousins,
My heart breaks at the passing of your mom. My dad and Uncle Hank loved her so much! She was as special to them as she was to all of us. We truly appreciated all her love and efforts to keep the Pohlman family together. She was a beautiful person both inside and out...I will always remember her gentle yet strong ways, her beautiful eyes, and her laugh.
All my love,
Karol
