Jean WHELAN Obituary

WHELAN - Jean Butler Of Penfield. Born June 27, 1927 in Lackawanna, NY passed away February 25, 2013. Predeceased by her parents, George and Gertrude Butler, sister, Gertrude Fleming and aunt, Ella Butler. Survived by her husband, Robert M.; children, Michael (Michelle), Patricia (Jim) Fagan, Kathleen Whelan and Anne Whelan; grandchildren, Theresa, Colleen and Joseph Fagan, Caroline and Julia Whelan; and sister, Genevieve Repp. Jean graduated from Mt. St. Mary Academy in Kenmore, NY class of 1945. She was married June 30, 1951 to Robert Whelan in St. Rose of Lima Church, Buffalo, NY. Jean was a board member of the WEIU in Rochester in the 1970's and 80's and an antique jewelry dealer from 1975 to 2012 as well as a member, officer and board member of the Genesee Antiques Dealers Association. Jean will be remembered as generous, loyal, caring and spontaneous. Her Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced. Donations may be made in her memory to Saints Place, 46 South Main St., Pittsford, NY 14534.
