Joan E. PEARD

PEARD - Joan E. (nee Deck) Age 80, March 19, 2017 after a long illness. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Edgar L. Peard; predeceased by her brother Ted; she is survived by her sister-in-law Judy and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Born in Buffalo, the former Joan Deck was a graduate of Kensington High School where she was active in the Girl's Volleyball, Basketball and Swimming Programs. Following graduation she worked in the Insurance business. Joan was an avid gardener and frequently created original prize winning floral arrangements. She was a member of many horticultural organizations and clubs including the Federated Garden Club of New York, the District Eight Garden Club, the Smallwood Garden Club and Ikebana International. She was an accredited life and master judge for the National Garden Clubs Inc. and a master judge for the flower shows of the National Council of State Garden Clubs. Joan was a collector of Teddybears and at one time had hundreds of them. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 PM at the DIETRICH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2480 Kensington Ave., Amherst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Court, Williamsville. Please assemble at church.
