Joan PREISCHEL Obituary
(nee Roberts)
Of Eden, New York, age 81, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She married her husband Lawrence August Preischel Jr. on October 1, 1960. Joan graduated from Hamburg High School and then went to work for Verizon for 28 years as a long distance information operator. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program for several years. She was a retail sales associate for Minnesota Woolen for several years, and was the co-owner of the SnoShop snowmobile garage in the 1970's. She was an avid amateur photographer, winning numerous ribbons at the Erie County fair for her sunflowers, local barns, cemeteries, and landscapes. She enjoyed probing estate sales for the best deals in town. Joan will be truly missed and remembered for her generous nature and selfless love toward her family and friends. She was a kind and caring woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Joan is predeceased by her parents, John and Anna (O'Neil) Roberts, brother, John Roberts Jr., sisters, Patsy Lardo and Ellen Randall. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Lawrence Preischel Jr., her children; Jacqueline (Robert Norton) Preischel, Lawrence III, (Beverly) Preischel, Christopher (Danielle) Preischel, Russell (MaryBeth) Preischel, her grandchildren, Colton and Juston Preischel, sisters; Marilyn (Donald) Schreiber, Shirley (Gordan) Demetre, brother Kenneth (Diane) Roberts, and several nieces and nephews. The family invites friends to attend a graveside service on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saint Mary's Cemetery, located at 8175 East Eden Road, Eden, New York. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to North Boston Rescue Squad or Hospice. Arrangements by the JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC.
