Joan SIBLEY Obituary

Sibley - Joan C. (nee Benz)
Joan Catherine Sibley (Benz) passed away on December 30, 2022 at the age of 85. She was residing in Watkinsville, GA. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Edith Benz. Joan is predeceased by her former husband Donald Sibley. She is survived by her three children: Suzanne Greer (Daniel) of Watkinsville, GA; Timothy Sibley (Evelyn) of Salem, SC; and John Sibley (Shayne) of Orleans, MA. Her 6 grandchildren: Emilee Greer Hain (Al), Derek Greer, Bennett Greer; Nicholas McCarthy (Bettie); Christian and Emma Sibley. She is also survived by her sister Jane Anzalone (Charles) of Williamsville, NY and their two daughters, her nieces, Amy and Jill. Always the cook and party planner, Joan had many great friendships including her best friend of 77 years Carol Schmitz of Lancaster, NY. Joan graduated from Bishop McMahon High School in Buffalo, NY. She raised her children in Syracuse, NY. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She enjoyed working in a Pediatric Office as a receptionist. Joan will be returned to Buffalo, her final resting place. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 18, 9:30AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Lancaster, NY. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
