Born on March 3, 1951, in Buffalo, Joanne's life was marked by creativity, most notably through her passion for quilting, her love for dogs and cats and her involvement with LJ's Hand Car Wash on Bailey Ave which she co-owned with her husband Lee Taylor. Joanne was an exceptional quilter whose artistry and craftsmanship earned her numerous awards at quilt shows. Joanne is lovingly remembered by her husband Lee Taylor, siblings: Jeff (Peggy) Gerwitz, Dan (Jane) Gerwitz, Joyce Frey, and Karen (the late John) Servis, nieces and nephews Scott (Micki) Gerwitz, Michelle (Craig) Bloomquist, Chris (Karen) Aquiline, Mark (Francisco) Aquiline, Carrie Gerwitz and Brent Gerwitz. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Patricia Gerwitz and siblings Mary Gerwitz, Jane (Charlie) Aquiline and Kris Gerwitz. She will be remembered for her happy and pleasant demeanor and her contagious laugh. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
