John ALLEN Obituary

ALLEN - John
90 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 with his partner of 30 years, Cynthia L. Stewart by his side. He was a longtime resident of Grand Island. Born on August 31, 1931 in Fulton, New York to parents George W. and Grace (Hammond) Allen. He attended school and went on to join the Army at the age of 17 where he served his country proudly for 4 years before receiving an honorable discharge. He then went on to attend The University of Buffalo where he received his Masters Degree in Industrial Arts. After graduating he became a well respected Professor at Buffalo State College for the next 32 years. He had many interests including hunting, fishing and outdoors. He is survived by two children: Lorraine S. Wilcox and John H. (Denise) Allen; five grandchildren: Christina, Samantha, Jennifer, Chelsea, Geraldine and Daniel; as well as several great-grandchildren and a very soon to be born great grandson who will be named John. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Peachee and his nine siblings. There will be no visitation and a burial will be held at Mount Adnah Cemetery in Fulton, New York in the near future.

John Allen was one of my favorite college professors. I attended Buffalo State over 40 years ago and still remember his lessons vividly. My condolences to his entire family.
