John was an awesome person, he reminded me of my grandfather. Always a smile, always a quick witted comment, I only knew him for a few years but it felt like a lifetime (in a good way). Always had a presence of a ray of light no matter the type of day. Absolute pleasure to have known him as he made an imprint on my way of being, he brought back some of the happiness I lost from losing my grandfather. The kindest of thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

John sponsored my race cars in USAC, but he was much more than just a sponsor. He was one of my best friends. When I got married John and Emily came to our wedding in Indiana. When I was injured in a bad motorcycle accident, he came to see me in the nursing home. I'll miss our phone conversations after races. I'll miss John, my friend. To his family, my wife, Debbie, and I send our sincere condolences to you.
