John DUGO Obituary

DUGO - John J. October 26, 2015, beloved husband of Joanne (nee Cullen) Dugo; dear brother of the late Dominic (late Mary), Vincent (late Agnes), Donald (late Ann), Joseph (late Madelain) Dugo, Mary (late Anthony) Picone, Angelo (late Elaine), Nicholas Dugo, Helen (late James) Wagner, Romeo (Marie) and Carmen Mario Dugo; cherished godfather of Benjamin Dugo, Ava Marie Diaz, Joanne Angrisano Mendiola, Carmen Dugo and Gretchen Healey; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will be present to receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at BEACH-TUYN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5541 Main Street (at Cayuga Rd.), Williamsville. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning at 9:30 in SS Peter & Paul Church, Williamsville. Please assemble at church. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Buffalo would be gratefully accepted. John proudly served as a member of the 27th Fighter Escort Wing in the Korean War (South Korea) and later in Japan. Later as Tech Sergeant, John was a Chief Clerk in the Airforce Message Center in the Pentagon, 1952-1956. "Uncle John", as he was affectionately known to family and friends alike, enjoyed bowling and was the assistant coach for the Baby Blue Dodgers - Clarence Girls' Softball. Playing games with the kids, grilling out, John's wonderful stories and humor will be missed by all. He loved to play golf, mostly with George F. Lamm Post Golf League at Rothland, Pine Meadows and especially years of golfing at Greenwood Golf Course. Online condolences at www.beachtuynfh.com

Very sorry for your loss. My 5th grade teachet at Nativity was Mrs Dugo. She was one of the best teachers there. My father worked there and I got to meet John one Saturday while helping my father with some work on the school. John Albanese

Uncle John was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He was a unique person, his humor and vivacious personality made everyone around him feel welcome and accepted. He fit in equally with the Baby Blue Dodgers as he did pulling an inside straight in a poker game. The world is less without Uncle John, it was an honor to know him and he will be sorely missed.
