Dear Cousins,
Remembering Uncle John's loud laugh and smile. I hadn't seen him in many, many years but at my mother's memorial in 1999, I recognized him immediately; the laugh and smile hadn't changed.
Even with the responsibilities of a large family, he always found the time to enjoy life.
He touched people in a positive way. Sorry I didn't make the funeral, I was out of town and just heard.
Sincere condolences to all of you. your Dad will be remembered in a special way.
Love,
Cousin Albert Velie

Oh my Noelle, as I reread the note I wrote I realized that I forgot to mention the joy that you have given all of us. Your beauty, your smile,
your youth has kept all of us so young. You are the youngest princess to the Velie line. I love you.
Heartfelt Love and Sympathy,

My memories melt my heart.
I remember:
Visits to Buffalo.
As a child, I recall my Uncle John. Uncle John was so handsome and tall. His deep, clear voice attracted me. I did not want to act up around him. I felt his every word and his laughter, for he laughed with his heart!
I recall:
Being put to sleep with my cousins (Suzanne, Gene Edward and Michele) in Mom's bedroom off of the kitchen. We never slept, we giggled and told stories all night long.
Ice cream, ice cream...Suzanne and Gene Edward took me to the grocery store next to Mom & Pop's home. They ate there ice cream fast and I still had some left as we entered Mom's kitchen. One look on Mom's face and I knew I wasn't suppose to be eating ice cream. Mom asked me what I had behind my back and can you believe it, I said "Nothing." Mom gave me another chance and then said "Jeannette, I see right through you. You have an ice cream cone behind your back." I was so surprised that she knew. Needless to say, I learned two important lessons: a. follow what your cousins do (aka where ever you are do as the natives do) b. never tell a lie, you will get caught and you'll be in for big trouble.
Suzanne, Gene Edward, Michele and I went to see the movie "White Christmas." Even today, I can go back to that moment in time and remember the first movie I went to see with my cousins. It was on a snowy Buffalo day.
I recall going over to Downing Street. Suzanne, Gene Edward and I sat on the side stoop. The frame was just going up on the Goergen's new home.
Suzanne playing the piano at Mom's.
A huge bookcase of story book dolls.
A clock Suzanne gave me when I joined the airlines...ah, it still works and is a timeless treasure to me.
Gene Edward & Michael lifting weights in the cellar.
Visis with Gene Edward on layovers away from home. Oh the fun we had.
Michele, just the most adorable little girl, skipping rope.
Renee, a beauty who looks so much like the most beautiful aunt in the world, my Aunt Regina.
Timmy, who use to make his Uncle Al laugh with his own words to Chitty
Chitty Bang Bang.
Peter, who we called Peter the potter, for he made such wonderful gifts by hand.
Over the years, we remain entwined.
You all have meant so much to each one of us in the Velie family.
You've given us love, joy and so many happy moments.
...and all of these wonderful memories happened because a beautiful girl named Regina and a handsome boy named John, had dreams and had a family full of love, laughter and light.
I am so blessed to have had my Uncle John, in so many ways he was my hero too. I will miss him in his physical self but he remains always forever in my heart.
May time ease your sorrows and may happy memories replace them.
With Heartfelt Sympathy & Love,
Cousin Jeannette, Kody & Reiji

Dearest Noelle and the entire Georgen family,
My very Deepest Condolences. When we were kids growing up, your Dad was a part of me... like a Dad to me too! We shared so many good times as kids, then we all got married and moved, had our own new families to take care of. But, we never can forget our childhood days. They are such good memories! We were so lucky to have Mr Goergen for so many years. He was a great man!
He truly is in a better place.
All my love at your time of sorrow.
