LARRY - John L., Jr. Age 83, of North Tonawanda and formerly of the City of Tonawanda, Friday, December 2, 2016, beloved husband of the late Janice M. (nee Burlack) Larry; devoted father of Christiane (Garrett) Piskor, Andrea (Michael) Glatting and Amy (Chet) Sulinski; grandfather of Kevin Michael Glatting and Amanda Christine Sulinski; son of the late John L. and Florence (Brown) Larry; brother of Jean (late William) Sellers, Donald (Marie) Larry and the late Joan Loeswick; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 7 at 10 AM at St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda. Friends invited. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018. Mr. Larry was a 1952 graduate of Tonawanda High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Thereafter, he studied at the State University of New York at Buffalo State where he earned a BS and MS degree in teaching. He began his teaching career in 1961 at Starpoint Central School District as an Elementary School Teacher and Director of Adult Education. From 1971 to 1974, Mr. Larry served as an Elementary School Principal in the Newfane Central School District. He was a School District Administrator and Director of Staff Development in the West Seneca Central School District from 1974 until his retirement in 1991. After retiring, Mr. Larry was an Adjunct Professor at Canisius College where he supervised student teachers.
