Of East Amherst, NY. Husband of Sandra Ruff. Father of Kimberly (Brian) Kern. Loving Grandfather of Madison and Andi. John was a 32 year Town of Amherst Employee, a member of the Eggertsville Hose Co, and the FJ Donovan Post. John served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war. Family will receive visitation on Wednesday 4-7 PM at Perna-Dengler Roberts Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Road. Flowers gratefully declined. Please consider donations to the SPCA of Erie County. Arrangements by AUDUBON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE.

Sandy and family- our deepest condolences. We´ll remember John´s constant and infectious smile. Dick has fond memories of John using his house on Lyndale as a `phone booth´ to change into Santa Claus.

Sandy and family We are so saddened to hear of John´s passing. He was a very kind man always a smile on his face, and his love for the pups in the neighborhood. I worked with John at a Facility where he was our WWTP Engineer, Never short on words. But we always agreed, sometimes his way, little times my way. His eyes showed the greatest of compassion and I was proud to call him my Friend. Rest well John, you will be missed because in Gaelic they say " Am agus foighne a thógann seilide go Corcaigh´ " Even a snail will find the cork" God surely Bless
