John Stading Obituary

Stading, John V.

November 5, 1949 - December 9, 2024

Age 75, of St. Louis Park, MN, formerly of Buffalo, NY. Born in Rochester, NY, he moved to Buffalo, NY, to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at SUNY at Buffalo. He worked maintenance at Airport Lanes and Cleveland Hill Schools, proudly served as President of CSEA Local 868 and was an International Delegate for AFSCME Local 1000. He was a huge baseball fan. He could be found in the church choir most Sundays until he moved to Minnesota, where he became a Solitaire enthusiast. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Norma J. (nee Dolan), loving daughters Heather A. (Neil) Gillbanks and Sheila V. (Daniel) Kelly; sisters Lynn (Roy) Morris, Kristina Telles, Susan (Larry) Stading-Gaiter, and Janet Priest; and his brother David (Dolin) Stading. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his son John F. (Rose) Stading and his brother Wayne (Shirley) Priest. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Faith Church, 12007 Excelsior Blvd., Minnetonka, MN, on January 25,2025, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Church or St. Louis Park Emergency Program, 6812 West Lake St., St. Louis Park, MN 55426.
