John STUMPF Obituary

STUMPF - Dr. John Norman
82, entered into heaven on August 4th, 2022 near his home in Olive Branch, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years, Donna J (Schultz) Stumpf, and family. He was the dearly beloved father of the late Dr. Erik (Amy), David (Andrea), and Daniel (Donna M) Stumpf. Loving grandfather of Luke, Ethan, Alli, Dawson, Lilli, Luana, Mariana, Kayla, Andrew, Ian, Matthew and Michael. Dr. Stumpf graduated from the University of Buffalo Medical School and was a prominent General Surgeon for 42 years in Buffalo, NY and later in Naples, FL. He was the recipient of the Roche Award in medical school and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. In addition to being a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, he was an attending physician at several hospitals and served on many committees. He will be remembered for his gift of caring and his gentle bedside manner. He was active in his church, serving as a Board Member and Deacon. His desire was for all to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, personally sharing his faith and medical knowledge on mission trips, in prison ministries, and in the communities where he lived. He loved being with family, enjoyed music, sports, travel, and always had a joyful spirit. He was passionate about increasing awareness and raising funds for his son's (Erik) charitable fund. Flowers grciously declined. Donations in Dr. Stumpf's memory may be made at Facebook.com/EriksTriLegacy or checks are graciously accepted payable to Erik's Tri-Legacy Fund, c/o 6372 Davidson Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654. I remember John well. We were colleagues for many years at Kenmore Mercy. I recall his ready smile, his gentleness and affability. My condolences and love to Donna and the family. John is now at peace. He merits the reward of a life well lived.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I saw this in the Buffalo Evening News. My mother was a Stumpf and I am wondering if Dr. Stumpf may be relation to us. This is not a good forum to ask questions, but my great grandfather was Rev John Stumpf born in Canada. I would like to hear from any member of the family if interested.
