As an alumni of Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam, NY, I was also a soccer player with Joe and we played many games together at Bigsbee School. My wife and I graduated with Joe and Mary in 1960. We were the first graduating class of Mohonasen. We have many fond memories of Joe and Mary and are sorry for his passing. Our deepest sympathies to his wife, Mary and their family. I met Joe very early in my soccer referee life. He took the time to talk with me and encourage me to stay with it. I know Joe has touched many player's, referee's and sports fans, to follow their dreams and respect the game's. Know that your Dad, grandfather and great grandfather left a positive lifetime impression on many people. Much love and condolences to Steve and the Adamec family.

My deepest condolences. Looking back playing Soccer with Coach Adamec were some of my favorite years and fondest memories. He said long after I stopped playing to remember him by this.. Pictures below. May all the memories you helped create let your legacy live on!

Mr Adamec was a great educator and a wonderful friend to the Buffalo and Western New York Soccer community. It was always great to seen him when doing Lancaster games. I’m saddened to hear of his passing. RIP Mr Adamec. Sympathies for the entire Adamec family and friends.

I played for Coach Adamec at Lancaster in the early 1970s. As much as I enjoyed playing for him, his biggest impact was the mentoring he provided me during those teenage years. I will forever be grateful for his guidance and wisdom......and for his coaching, which turned a ragtag group of guys into a very good soccer team!

Today we have lost a founding father of Lancaster Soccer. Joe, you helped put Lancaster on the soccer map. When I walk across the soccer fields of Westwood park and I see all the children playing, it was because of Joe and the other founding members. It would have not happened without you. Adamec family and especially Mary, Shelley and I offer our prayers and condolences. Joe, the man on the golf cart and the man with the clip board, you will me missed. Chris Au

So sad to hear of Joe's passing. He was the guru of Lancaster-Depew soccer to me, an introduction to refs, players, and coaches...the beautiful game that has meant so much to me. Will never think of him without a smile.
