This comes very late as I had not been in contact with Joe for some time, but he was a good friend in the Sinai, Egypt at the Multinational Forces base there where he worked as a fireman. He and I visited Cairo, Egypt together and he later visited me when I was in Ohio in 1987. Joe was one of the best people I have ever met.

Dear Mills Family,
We were so sorry to hear about your loss. "Bean & Barley" Joe was a part of our "Stumpy's" family. We always felt like he was related. From my Dad's days when your Dad would come and get barley soup for his Mother to the later years when he brought in new customers to Risa's or took out sandwiches to people that he thought would love a good NY deli Pastrami. Not to mention his jokes. He will always bring a smile to my face and will be missed.'Our love and prayers
are with you all.

To the Mills Family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your father. As my kind and caring neighbor, he will be sorely missed. It just won't be the same without him next door.
But at least we can be consoled knowing he is in a good place with God and the angels.

We send our condolences to you and the family for the loss of your father. He is now welcomed into the hands of God in Heaven. We are sure he will now look down upon his family and friends and provide guidance from above as he did so on Earth. God Bless.

"Uncle" Dave and family...I am sorry for your loss. I remember Joe with so much fondness from when I was younger. He would go with my Uncle Frank and me to Manganos for donuts as well as Friendly's for ice cream. He always treated me with such kindness and compassion. He was a good man that will be missed by many. Rest in peace Joe.
