Age 77, of North Tonawanda, passed away on October 21, 2021, after a long goodbye. Joyce was a deeply caring and sensitive woman with an artistic flare. Her passions in life were her family, painting, swimming, jewelry, gardening, chocolate, ice cream, an afternoon nap, and a good joke (not necessarily in that order). She often said that her greatest achievement was raising two strong minded children into successful, family-oriented adults. Joyce attended Buffalo State College to study Art, was an accomplished long-distance competitive swimmer, and Secretary at Garden Club of the Tonawandas. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ and Salem United Church of Christ, where she enjoyed singing with the choir. She leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph Moretto, Jr.; her children, Stephen Moretto and Virginia "Ginny" (Stefan) Balbo; three grandchildren, Joseph Andrew Moretto, Felix, and Alina Sofia Balbo; daughter of the late Virgil and Julia Hughes; and sister of Bob (Sharon) Hughes. At Joyce's request, her body has been donated to the University of Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine. No prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 11th, at 1:00 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St., (between Morgan & Broad Sts) in Tonawanda. Following the Memorial Service, everyone is welcome to join Joyce's family for a get together at the Renaissance Club, at 252 Vandervoort St., in North Tonawanda. Condolences may be shared online at
