June Oberst Obituary

OBERST-June M. Of Contoocook, NH, Age 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 16, 2007. Born in Blasdell, New York, she was the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Weiss) Matthewson. She graduated from high school in Hamburg, New York and went on to attend nursing school at the Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo, New York. She practiced in various hospitals and as a private duty nurse in the Buffalo area. She was a member of the Center Point Baptist Church in Concord. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed traveling, animals, children, sewing, playing the piano and her faith in the Lord. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Raymond G. Oberst of Contoocook; her daughter Lori Tewhey and her husband Tom of Pembroke; her brother-in-law Alvin Oberst of Williamsville, New York; her nephew Timothy Oberst of Atlanta, Georgia; her granddaughter Sheri Tewhey and her friend Jeffrey Tucker and his son Jonathan of Boston; and numerous cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday September 19th from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, NH. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 20 at 10:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 12 pm at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gloria Fund at Riverside Veterinary Hospital, 201 N. Main Street, Boscawen, NH 03303. The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.
