Laurie Polizzi Obituary

Laurie Jean Polizzi passed away peacefully with her partner, Robert Lee, by her side. She was incredibly strong and fought cancer with grace, dignity and ferociousness. Laurie lived life on her own terms and fought to make it what she wanted. Her son, Steven Polizzi, was the love of her life and they took care of each other in the most beautiful ways. She traveled as much as she could and found the best travel companion in Robert. She brought love and light to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her friends and family always knew she would be there for them. Laurie was proceeded in death by her father Salvatore Polizzi. She is survived by her partner Robert Lee, son Steven Polizzi, Mother Judith Polizzi (Fatig), sister Carrie Schoonover (spouse Richard), brother Salvatore Polizzi (spouse Karen), many nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, a number of cousins as well as amazing friends.
Family and friends will be received at Bliley's Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond, VA on September 7th from 2pm-5 pm. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Purring Hearts VA at purringheartsva.org.
