Of Sanborn, NY, passed away in the Schoellkopf Health Center. He was born at home in the Town of Wheatfield, a son of the late Reinhard and Alma (Wendt) Ziemendorf. Mr. Ziemendorf was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and served with the US Army during the Korean War. He helped out with the family farm over the years. Mr. Ziemendorf was employed with the Williams Gold Refining and as a Quality Control Manager with Ivoclar Vivadent. He was also the Director Agent of the Frontier Co-Op Insurance Co. and a Director Agent and Past Chairman of the Board of United Frontier Mutual Insurance Company. Mr. Ziemendorf was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire Company, the Sanborn American Legion Post #969 and supporter of 4-H. He was the husband of Sally (Carlson) Knox and the husband of 48 years to late Betty Jane (Schoenthal) Ziemendorf, who passed away in 2010. He is survived by his children David Ziemendorf, Carol (David) Wunderlich and Donald (Melissa) Ziemendorf, grandchildren Sara (Joshua) Austin, Lindsay (Trevor) Ward, William, Nathan, Austin, Brandon, and Aaron, also five great- grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Bryn and Nicholas Ziemendorf and a brother of the late William (Betty) Ziemendorf, Elizabeth (Albert) Milleville, Jane and Roger Ziemendorf. His family will be present on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, followed by Funeral Services and Military Honors at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Meaghan James officiating.
