To my favorite teacher I always looked upto, I always think about you all the time when I read my favorite books. You always told me it was good to read and help my brain.
I always loved getting a phonecall In the class to just come down and hang around with you. I miss you so much and always go by what you told me. I'll never forget how much of a special and unique person you were to me. You'd help me out when I was down and we could always talk about things even if It was really bad. You taught me to be the better person in life and to always keep my head up. I'll never forget you ! Continue to look over your loved ones.

Aunt Lois, I have to know that your smiling face will always be looking down upon us all. I guess it’s true that God takes the best first, because you are truly among the best. You did so much or so many people in the short time you where on this earth and I know that God saw every second of it. If it wasn’t for you I may have never graduated from college. You and Uncle Jeff brought me in to your home without complaint never once, asking for anything in return. Even though you day was jam packed with all of your responsibilities you still made time to read over my work for school or quiz me in the morning before a test. You are deeply missed but know this; the influence you had upon so many will continue to make a difference in this world. I do hope and pray every day that you take the time to look in on your children and Uncle Jeff. May you ride on angels wings………I know yours get yours soon.

An Admirer

May 23, 2009

-Lois's home was always open to family, neighbors, and friends. She, and husband, Jeff, welcomed a "revolving door" lifestyle where tradition held strong.
-Lois would cook in the kitchen for hours all the while managing conversations, phone calls, pets, family, and guests.
-"The More the Merrier!" was her household philosophy. No matter what, the Koss Family always made room for a visitor or guest.
-For these qualities of "community", "sharing" and "laughter" Lois has left a legacy.
-Long live friends and family gathered around the dining room table.

To the Koss Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy in the passing of Lois. She was such a giving person in helping to educate the youth of Hamburg. Kirsten and I saw her nearly every day on her way to school as we waited for the bus with our children. She always had a kind word or warm wave for us. She will be greatly missed in the neighborhood. Our thought and prayers are with you during this trying period.

Dearest Koss family,
It was such a shock to hear that Lois was ill, and now is so surreal that she was taken. I will always remember her smiling face and wonderful presence. She is truly an amazing woman and she has given me such good advice on teaching and taught me to stay positive "you will find a teaching job" she would always tell me. Lois will be greatly missed and will always be remembered. I am so sorry for your loss and unfortunately know all too well what you are going through...if you need anything at all please feel free to call. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To The Koss Family:

I want you to know how truly unique and invaluable your wife and mother is. Mrs. Koss was my daughter Julia’s reading teacher at Cloverbank since Kindergarten. My daughter is very timid and shy. Mrs. Koss developed a special bond and trusting relationship with Julia. She has touched the heart of my child and excelled her skills. This tragedy is a great loss to my family and the school system. Julia’s now in 3rd grade and she told me the sad news on Monday. The school nurse had called to inform me about Mrs. Koss, and to tell me Julia was told, and that she was sick in the nurse’s office. Julia asked if Mrs. Koss is in heaven with her Papa. And I told her she was…that Mrs. Koss is now an angel, at home with Jesus, and she’s happy and she suffers no more. Julia replied, “I’m really going to miss her Mom.” That Monday night Julia said her prayers, and prayed for Mrs. Koss. God bless you and your family during this difficult time. I want each of you to know that she has touched our lives forever, and she will be greatly missed. God Bless you all. The Family of Julia Carroccia.

To Jeff, Nathan, Steve, Sarah, & Baccari Family:

The loss of Lois is ever so surreal. I have so many, many fond memories of all the visits to Pittsburgh at our grandparents home and the many times of travel to Lancaster at Uncle Louie's and Aunt Gilda's home. Who would have thought that when we traveled to New York this past Christmas Holiday and spent New Years Eve with Lois and the rest of the family, that would be the last time. We are saddened and you will be forever missed.

I am very saddened to hear of Lois' death. My heart goes out to all of the family. I have so many fond memories of Lois from High School and beyond. We had so much fun together. We spent many hours having tea in her Mother's kitchen after a night out. I will cherish the memories I have. We lost touch over the past few years, but it doesn't diminish the loss I feel of a great friend. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. May you find peace.

Bill and I are so saddened for the Koss family. With graduation
around the corner it is particularly sad for everyone. Lois was
so wise and had such an infectious laugh, a wonderful wife,
mother and teacher. A life fully lived and too short. It was a
pleasure to know her.
