I did not have the honor of knowing Mrs. Laurie, however, I do work with her son, Don, and he is a wonderful man, which I am sure made his mother very happy and proud.

We are greatly saddened to hear of Marg's passing, and we will remember her always with great affection. The world is lessened by the loss of her optimism, joie de vivre, and graciousness.

I was surprised to learn of Marg's passing as she was so active in her life. A dynamic woman, full of energy, Marg presided over our women writers' group with enthusiasm and dedication. She will truly be missed. My sympathy to her family and friends. (I just learned of her death as we are "snowbirds" from Youngstown.)

Don, Janice and Mark will take comfort in knowing that she has a special guardian angel to watch over her. I have had the pleasure over the past years of her life to be her acquaintance. She was always ready to share her enthusiasm. We became acquainted though her Granddaughter Tara. She would be in attendance at Tara's many functions as an actress. Margaret loved the theater and life. We will all miss her greatly.

We are saddened to learn the news of Mrs. Margerat Laurie. Our prayers are for the Laurie family to pass through this tough time. We met her first time during the Pitch Festival play in the Lewiston. She always treated us like a family. We respected her talent as well as wonderful nature with high regard.

It was with sadness that my husband and I read of Marg's passing in the Buffalo News while we were in Florida. Marg will always be remembered as a wonderful person and a terrific writer. It was a joy knowing her. During the years she spent as a member of APWW, she was a tremendous asset.

Although I never met Mrs. Laurie, I have had the honor of calling her grandson Mark a friend. I am not surprised to learn that she was a woman of distinction and I'm sure she was very proud of Mark and he of her.
My prayers are with you, Mark, and your family.

I met Margaret in 1967 when I started dating her brother-in-law Joseph Laurie. She became an instant friend and in 1968 became a member of my family. I can remember feeling so proud and happy. She was dearly loved by both Joseph (deceased) and I and will forever be in our prayers and hearts. Love you and will miss you Margaret from your sister-in-law Martha (Mart)

There was never a woman I met that can compare to Margaret. Her love of life was always present. A most driven, compassionate, smart and her composure, it all was impecable. She gave to life more then 100%. Her family was her world. I am sorry for your loss and greatful to have known her.

I am saddened at the news of Mrs. Laurie's passing. I am a former student from NCCC. She is my favorite professor.
I learned so much about the world of literature from her and I think about her often, as I am an English teacher. I so enjoyed reading the article in the Gazette about her recent book. I will continue to think of her with a smile.
