Of Buffalo, entered into rest September 28, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Michelangelo Cumbo; devoted mother of Susan (Kenneth) Kirby, Michael Cumbo, Michelle Cumbo, and the late Barbara Cumbo; cherished grandmother of Sean (Jordan) Kirby and Claire (Samuel Ministero) Kirby; loving daughter of the late Walter and Sophia Pyszczek; dear sister of the late Gertrude Kather, Walter Pyszczek and Richard Pyszczek; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and many friends. Relatives and friends may visit the Lombardo Funeral Home (Northtowns Chapel) 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. (near Eggert/Sheridan) on Tuesday 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 9:00 o'clock at St. Benedict's church, 1317 Eggert Rd. Amherst, NY 14226. Please assemble at church. Over her lifetime her children believe Marie has kept the greeting card industry in business. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marie to a charity of your choice. I was saddened to hear today of Mrs. Cumbo´s passing, and send my deepest condolences to her children, grandchildren, and other loved ones. I had the joy of knowing Marie Cumbo through her daughter Michelle. When we were teenagers and in college, she would spoil Michelle´s friends with the most extraordinary cookie care packages, and she was such warm and welcoming host to all of us. She raised a family of brilliant, talented, compassionate children, too! In addition to her culinary talents, Marie was a creative crafter. I am looking right now at a beautiful throw-blanket that she crocheted for me as a gift one year-I´ve kept it for 30 years, because her workmanship was so exceptional. Godspeed, Mrs. Cumbo; the choir of angels is blessed to have you in its ranks.
