Father Art Smith

October 12, 2007

To all the Luhs,
I was so sorry to read (just today) of Marty's death. I was in The Netherlands on the day of his death. I hope that you know that if I had been at home, I most certainly would have been with you during this difficult time. I pray he is at peace and I thank you for the chance I had to spend some time with all of you. Peace, Father Art Smith

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO THE LUH FAMILY. MARTY WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO TAX TIME TO CONVERSE WITH HIM. HE ALWAYS HAD HIS JAZZ CD'S ON. HE TALKED A GREAT DEAL ABOUT HIS FAMILY AND HOW PROUD HE WAS OF THEM. HE NEVER RUSHED YOU OUT OF THE OFFICE AND ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION, PLUS HE ALWAYS GAVE HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS. I WILL REMEMBER HIM IN MY NIGHTLY PRAYERS.

Dear Lena:
Although we never met Marty personally, we have heard many wonderful stories about what a loving, caring man he was. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Don't cry because Marty died ... Smile because he lived!
