Beloved wife of the late Russell P. Battaglia. Devoted mother of Russell M. (Marie) Battaglia and Ann Margaret (William) Mercer. Loving grandmother of Sarah, Emily, Samuel, Leslie and great grandmother of Gloria. Dear sister of the late Josephine (Lawrence), Sarah (Daniel) Carmella (Edward) and Samuel (Rachel). Also survived by nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 911 Englewood Ave., Wednesday from 4-7 PM. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Thursday at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flower, donations to the donors choice. My name is Michael Bardo. Mary Bardo Battaglia was my father's cousin. My father was Vincent Bardo and he was the son of Sam and Carrie Bardo. As a child, I remember seeing Russell and Mary at either Howard Johnson or at The Lord Amherst. I am trying to fit Mary into my family tree. Were here grandparents Vincenzo "Jim" and Providence Bardo? What were here parents' names?

My heartfelt condolences to you, Ann, and your family. Your mom is now at peace with her beloved husband, after being lovingly cared for every day in the only place she wanted to be, near her family. You and Bill, willingly devoted your life to her in her final years, and though it
may have seemed like a sacrifice, it was a gift you gave with love and joy. Your unwavering love and loyalty were truly
irreplaceable to her.
