We are sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. We spent time with Ed and Mary Lou when Mike worked at Acme Electric. We always enjoyed spending time with them.

She graduated from Holy Angels Academy (a college preparatory high school) in Buffalo in 1953. She was the youngest student in that graduating class. She was a much beloved friend in a group of Holy Angels graduates, who called themselves "the Latrones" which means thieves or robbers in Latin because one of the teachers said if they didn't do well in their classes, they were essentially robbing from their own parents who paid high tuition for them to attend such a good school. These women met once a month for dinner for the duration of many of their lives. Surviving friends in the group are Mary (Argus) Kamholz, Patricia (Young) Kushman, Christine (Wilson) O'Leary. These, and the other women who, were like a second family to the group, and also, all their children, like honorary, "aunts." I am Mary's daughter, I remember preparing the house for "club dinner" nights, and hearing the love and laughter that they shared. They took turns going to each other homes for decades, they celebrated all of their childrens' lives, loves, and losses together. They were kind of like fairy godmothers to us all, encouraging, teasing, and always a force of quiet strength in the background. "Mary Lou" needs no other introduction to conjure funny stories and love.

Our condolences to the Culliton and Kirschgraber families. Mary Lou was the best! She was an inspiration and source of wisdom as we raised our family. We delighted in sending the kids over for some fresh baked cookies! Not only a top notch baker, Mary Lou was a gardener and always helpful in helping me become one. Her and Ed were the best neighbors and have been missed. Our kids called her May U!
So many wonderful memories of Ed and Mary Lou but the one that stands out the most is how they had such love and pride for their children and grand kids. We knew who everyone was even if we hadn´t met them! A wonderful legacy for sure.
Please know our hearts and prayers are with you
Much love,
Susie and Paul Jackson and Clan
