April 13, 1942 - February 10, 2025
Passed away peacefully with his daughter Kelly at his side. Michael was born in Silver Creek, NY to Francis McDonald and Dorothy Peacock McDonald. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Mullins) McDonald. Loving Brother to the late Richard (Dickie) McDonald, the late Sharon (McDonald) (Charles) Gugino, Patricia (McDonald)(John) Ford, and Robert (Carol) McDonald. Children predeceased by Kathleen Jacobsen Leonard. Survived by Kelly (McDonald) (Shawn)Willson, Ingrid (Jacobsen) (Scott)Bey, Robert Jacobsen, Joseph Jacobsen (late Amy Jacobsen), Maggie Wells, and Mitchell Oakes. Beloved Grandfather of Cait Willson, Kyle Willson, Joseph Rammacher, Jennifer Rammacher, Christina Rammacher, Chelsea, Rammacher, Edward (Emily) Piniewski, Drew Jacobsen, Cole Jacobsen, Emily Jacobsen, Alex Jacobsen, Devon Jacobsen, Timbra Jacobsen, Cheyanne Oakes, Alexandra Oakes, and Haven Oakes and many Great- Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mike was a Graduate of Lake Shore HS, Genesee Community College and SUNY Brockport. Mike began his career in NYSDOCCS in 1977 at Attica Correction Facility as a Temporary Release Interviewer. Mike retired from Corrections as Deputy Superintendent of Program Services at Marcy Correctional Facility in 2006. Mikey as he affectionately liked to call himself, had a zest for life. He and Kathy loved to travel, going on many fun adventures with friends and family. Mikey enjoyed boating on Tug This, coin collecting, golfing, and volunteering at the American Legion. He was a proud Marine serving from 1960 to 1963. He loved to dance and occasionally dressed in Drag. He always had a silver dollar in his pocket and a smile on his face. He was a ball of fun and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mikey's name to Parrot Outreach Society 1205 Elizabeth St. Unit I, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life and luncheon in honor of Michael on Saturday March 8, 2025 12:30 p.m. at J's White Elephant Banquet Hall 1404 Abbott Road, Lackawanna, NY 14218.
