Of Munfordville, KY. Passed away at age 66 following a long illness. Beloved husband of Judith (nee Biryla) and the late Kimberly (nee Smith). Loving son of the late James Riter and Francis Riter (nee Skipper). Devoted father of Heather Ballard and Melanie (Nicholas) Carter and stepfather to Kristen Clark and Jeffrey Schmidt. Cherished grandfather to Cole Ballard, Jackson Ballard, Lincoln Ballard, Owen Carter, Evan Carter, Lorraine Clark, and Charlotte Clark. Dear brother of the late baby James Philip, the late James (Diann) Riter, Patrick (the late Lynn Van Over) Riter, Dennis (Donna) Riter, Nancy (Dean) Weber, and Bill (Eileen) Riter. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Family will be holding a remembrance of life gathering on Thursday, June 27th. Friends invited to stop by between 5 and 6:30 p.m. at MANGIA RESTAURANT, 4264 N. Buffalo Road, Orchard Park, NY. Drinks and light food to be served.
Mike grew up in Orchard Park, NY. He retired from the US Government after 40 years of service with the US Air Force, US Customs, and Department of Homeland Security. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Judy, and all their children and grandchildren. He had a love for adventure and traveling the world. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mike's memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or a charity of your choice.

Mike was such a nice guy, always fun to work with, knew his stuff and was a great guy to hang out with. Good memories of a fishing trip with him in British Columbia chasing salmon.
