Michael SLIWINSKI Obituary
Of Cheektowaga, NY, passed suddenly on July 17, 2021 of an apparent heart attack at the age 55. Beloved son of the late Melvin J. and Geraldine B. (nee Cwikalowski) Sliwinski; dearest brother of the late Darlene, Melvin Jr., and David J. Sliwinski; cherished nephew of Joyce (Richard) Taylor; also survived by the Meeson Family, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 20th, and Wednesday, July 21st, from 3-7 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd., Depew), and where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Louis Church at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Mr. Sliwinski was the Chief of Police for the Town of Cheektowaga and a NYS Licensed Funeral Director at the Melvin J. Sliwinski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ten Lives Club, 3741 Lake Shore Rd., Blasdell, NY 14219.

Chief, your passing was way before your time. I didn't know you personally, but you were part of a brotherhood; a profession often criticized, chastised and maligned, but never divided.
Rest in peace knowing that you made a difference in the lives of many; from the citizens that you helped, counseled and consoled, to the criminals you locked-up and the countless brothers-in-blue whose backs you had during your decades- long career.
