Of South Buffalo, July 22, 2022. Beloved husband of Jeanne (nee Robertson) Fitzpatrick; loving father of Jenny (James) Hart, Kerry (Ryan) Enright, Molly, and the late Paul E. Fitzpatrick, Jr.; cherished Papa to Madelyn, Anna, Ellie, Thomas, Padraig, and Callan; dearest brother of the late Fr. Noel Fitzpatrick, OFM, Michael (Nancy), and John Joe (Kathy) Fitzpatrick; also survived by numerous other family members. Funeral Services will be held from Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Thursday at 10 AM (please assemble at Church). Paul was a football coach for Bishop Timon High school for 28 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Paul E. Fitzpatrick Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o: Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School, 601 McKinley Pkwy., Buffalo, NY 14220 are greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to LOOMIS OFFERS & LOOMIS, INC., MEMORIAL CHAPEL.

Fitz, Jack Laff and I spun around 3 times during a rainstorm on the Thruway on our way to a Summer League game at ECTI. Laff would probably say 6 or 7 times but that´s another story. Luckily, we ended up on the grass none the worse for wear. The 3 of us jumped out of the car screaming and laughing, jumping and punching we were so happy with our luck o´ the Irish. Not a scratch. We continued on to the game and kicked butt. Fitz had his typical 20 and 12, Laff scored 10 and I, of course, dealt out an assist or two to go along with my 0 for from the field. We drove home on city streets and celebrated with 15 cent beers at Mischiler´s (?) another great day in the lives of 3 South Buffalo teenagers circa 1965. What a place to grow up, what great friends to grow up with. You´re missed Pauly, you always will be.

Jean it is with great sadness that I´ve heard of Paul´s passing. I know that you and your family know what a great human being he was. He was a great model for all who knew him as well as for the many players he coached. Please accept my profound condolences for the loss of my childhood friend. Hopefully you can find some comfort in the knowledge that he was such a great human being.

Paul and Steve were roommates and brothers at the University of Maryland. Paul was the best man at our wedding and his brother officiated. Every time I went to a Maryland game Mrs. Fitz had something to take for Paul. The plane doors were almost closing when she threw Paul´s winter coats thru the door! We saw Paul and Jeannie sporadically through the years but Steve always spoke of his "brother" in the most affectionate terms. I lost Steve five years ago - hang on heaven - the boys from Buffalo are back together again!

My deepest prayer and condolences on the passing of Coach Fitz. He was so much more than a football coach. He taught us life lessons on that small practice field at Mulroy Park/Holy Family. He lives on as we pass those lessons to our children, family and friends. I am fortunate and blessed to have played for him. An absolute legend.

Prayers and condolences to the Fitzpatrick family. I am so sorry to hear the very sad news of coach Fitz passing!. I was one of the the Baker boys that came to Timon when Paul did. We were blessed to be coached by the Fitzpatrick brothers! He was a big reason why most of us went to Timon. He was an amazing football coach and an even better person. Many great memories. Prayers and condolences to the Fitzpatrick family on the passing of Paul. I had the pleasure of knowing Paul for many years. We played high school football against each other and years later I officiated many of Paul`s football games when he was coaching. Win or lose he was always a class act. There were none better! We lost a good one when Paul went to heaven. God bless.

Paul brought so much pride to our family! My dad would be so happy to show all of his accomplishments to whomever would come to the house! May he rest in well earned peace! What a reunion! Sorry to hear the sad news about coach Fitz. Paul coached me at Baker and Timon, he was not only a great coach, he was a great person, always giving us great advice on being the best we could be in life. He would always be willing to help me and my family. I still tell people the good stories of Paul and our football days in high school. Now you are reunited with our other great coach, your brother Mike. Rest In Peace!

I was so very sorry to read the sad news about Paul. Please accept my sincere condolences over his passing.
Paul and I worked together for thirty years at the West Seneca Developmental Center. Owing to his accomplishments on the gridiron as a college player and a coach, he was featured, alongside with another football coach, Bernie Ozolins, in a story in the local labor newsletter, The Union Focus. Throughout the many years I knew him, Paul remained a strong and reliable supporter of the union, Public Employees Federation Local 167. Widely admired and respected by his coworkers, he utilized his education and the skills to provide recreational opportunities for the center´s clients. He will be sorely missed.

Paul Fitzpatrick was one of a kind. He was a great father, husband, friend & coach. Paul was a joy to be with because he had a genuine sense of humor & was empathetic to everyone´s needs. I worked jobs with paul & had more than one beer with this great man.
