Pearl SWIECA Obituary

SWIECA - Pearl M.
age 99, of North Tonawanda, passed away peacefully at home on March 10th surrounded by her loving family. Pearl had a green thumb and loved spending time gardening. People would come over and tell her that her backyard was like "a little park" with all of her shrubbery and flowerbeds that she tended to. Pearl had over 4,000 cookbooks and was an amazing cook. She always had a hot meal on the stove and cocktails waiting to be poured. Her door was always open for company and she made sure that everyone knew that. She was the caretaker of her family and her kindness extended to anyone she met. Pearl was a selfless woman with a huge heart and always put everyone else's needs before her own. She was an animal lover and her two dogs, Beau and Mya, were always by her side. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly. She is predeceased by her parents Filex and Mary Ann La Freniere, her husband Bruno Swieca, by her 6 brothers, Ralph La Freniere, Raymond La Freniere, Charles La Freniere, Joseph La Freniere, Edward La Freniere and Leonard La Freniere, and 3 sisters, Jean Smith, Leona Travis and Dorothy Hansen. Survived by her loving step-son John (Beverly) Swieca, her granddaughter Jean Marie (Stefan) Ploetscher, and her great-grandchildren Vera and Roman Ploetscher. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If so desired please make memorial donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Make-a-Wish Foundation, 4600 Main St, #101, Buffalo, NY.
