Dr. Philip A. Peschio of Derby, a longtime local dentist, died July 29 at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving. He was 80.
Born in Buffalo, he graduated from Canisius High School and Canisius College. He earned a doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Buffalo Dental School.
He served as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965 and was a former member of the Civil Air Patrol.
His dental practice was located at 3800 Union Road in Cheektowaga. Previously, he worked at the dental clinic of the Buffalo Psychiatric Center for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, the former Diane L. Franz; two daughters, Whitney and Courtney Nyitrai; a brother, John; and five grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held.
