Ray has been and always will be the nicest man I have ever met. He has helped not only me and my family but many others. He was never selfish, he cared about everyone. He has taught me not only how to be a better basketball player but how to be a better person. He was always an extremely friendly man. The one thing I loved about keeping score at basketball games was that even if I was in a terrible mood Ray would always be able to cheer me up and put a smile on my face. Not to mention he was also very charitable too. He put so much effort and time in B.S.A.C basketball. Ray has been a huge inspiration to so many people and he will never be forgotten. He did so much for the B.S.A.C basketball league and the people that were part of it. Ray made basketball even more enjoyable. Basketball will just not be the same without him. God bless you Ray. R.I.P we all love you.

In the passing of Ray Eldridge we have lost a truly great human being, a loving father, a caring husband, a warm and gentle grandfather. A great friend to many, an enemy to none. A man who had such a profound impact on so many lives, the majority of whom may never even realize it. Easily, the kindest, most genuine person I have ever known. I have heard a thousand stories from a thousand different people about Ray and I can’t remember one of them being bad. Many people often accused him of being too soft or caring too much. I chuckle and say to myself “Really? Is there such a thing.” If there is one thing that this world needs it’s more people just like Ray. He is the epitome of what every person should strive to be, but no one should ever expect to achieve.
Yes, today we are all grieving in our great loss. But we can take some solace from the idea that one man’s loss is another man’s gain. While we have lost a great human being, heaven has gained an even greater spirit. If you think of all of the children that have been taken from this world prematurely. There is no doubt in my mind that Ray is already keeping score for the Angles little league team and selling hot dogs at their concession stand. He has already organized a youth basketball league and is just trying to find enough gym time for all of the teams. No, Ray has not left us. He has only moved ahead of us to a place where they need him more.
While we are all sad right now, we should all be happy that we were lucky enough to have Ray in our lives. He taught us all so much about how to be a good human being. I consider myself the luckiest person on the face of the earth for having known Ray Eldridge.

Thank You for everything Ray,
Keep up the good work.
Your friends and family at B.S.A.C

Dear Tim, Brenda and Family,

Just a note to say how sorry I am for your loss. My Dad passed during the Blizzard of '77 and my Mom in 2001. I talk to them on a daily basis because they are here with us 24/7.
It helps ease the pain and makes us remember them more. That keeps their memory fresh and puts a smile on my face. God Bless.

Please feel free to contact me, I enjoyed being part of the Wheatfied Blades with you and part of your hockey family.
