Shalom.
I didn´t know Mr. Hirsch but I came across an article he wrote about the the unnerving trend of people pronouncing "Picture" as "Pitcher" and how it used to be blamed on lack of education and/or rural slang - but how to explain the recent increase that includes people with degrees and professional careers...adding he hoped he didn´t offend anyone. I immediately started searching for his email to thank him for pointing it out - especially that it´s incorrect- and he had no reason to apologize- in fact I wanted to repost his article! Lol. So obviously he was an intelligent, articulate, grammatical correct and humorous man. He´s in a great place, no doubt sharing his (accurate..lol) words of wisdom with others.

While Dick´s professional accomplishments were legendary, I interacted with him solely on a personal level. He was a friend. One could feel his passion for excellence. He was a caring and empathetic human being. Our community is a better place for having been the beneficiary of his significant talent.

Dick and Elliott were dear friends for over 65 since their high school days in Buffalo. They were in frequent touch and loved to share tales of BFLO. Dick and Lynn attended Ell's 85th Birthday party and we shared many wonderful times together.
May he rest in peace. Sharon P Rivo & family

Lynn,
I'm so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was such a kind and interested person. I remember seeing him in my yoga class years ago and thinking, wow! He's pretty good. He put a smile on my face.
Take good care of yourself during this most difficult time.

I have fond memories of Dick as a very kind, smart & encouraging editor in my very early pro photography career many years ago.

I´m very sorry to hear of the passing of Dick. Whe. I fist met Dick was during the lowest points in my business career and he was instrumental in taking what seemed like the bottom to the top of the heap. We became friends over the years and spoke often. He became a confidant of mine we had some interesting political discussions but we were always respectful of the others position (wish that could happen more often some of the people who could make a difference). Ick was curious about my perspective and I his a rarity these days. It as my pleasure to spend time with Lynn over the years and Betsy in NYC visiting Steinway with our YPO group. I wish the family my best . Mark Sidebottom
