Dear Phyllis...I just learned tonight about the loss of your husband. I didn't know him very much. But I know when you spoke about him as we cooled our feet in the waters at Crystal Beach...the smile on your face would brighten up every time you spoke of your family especially your husband. Daddy,
I miss you so much. The ache in my heart from your absence is indescribable. This world is a much sadder one without you in it. But my heart also feels enormous relief that you are no longer suffering and are at peace.
I will continue to exude your spirit and the warmth, generosity and selflessness that everyone loved most about you. I will continue to tell people how you are the greatest man I have ever known and how incredibly proud I am to call you my Daddy. I will forever be in awe of the manner in which you fought your disease and not once, even as you lay dying, complained. Rather, your concern was for your wife and family.
I will always try and live life by the phrases that you so often iterated to me like "Mar, you got bigger fish to fry" or "Mar, you only live once".
I will always remember your infectious smile and laugh and let it warm me when I am saddened and grieved by your absence. All I need to do when I am in that moment is close my eyes and remember how much you loved and cherished your 'Daddy's little girl'....and I know I will be ok.
Mommy, Robbie and all of us will be ok....but keep a good eye on us for extra measure while you and Grandma are watching and eating kibbie together.
I love you Daddy with all of my heart.

You brought so much joy and love to our family and we will never forget that.
