Hey Bob....just wanted to let you know that mom and dad did pretty well yesterday. I think Tracy did too, but I didnt want to call and upset her. It was a tough day for all of us. Still doesnt seem real, and its been a whole year since youve been gone. I miss you tremendously. You have no idea. Rhett is and has been wonderful through it all. If I didnt have him, I wouldnt have survived this. One day when we're all together again, we'll look back on this and it wont seem so bad....but until then, know you're in my heart, our hearts, always. I love you big brother. xoxo

Even though it has almost been a year you're still in my thoughts. You have given me memories that I will always carry with me. You meant more to me than you will ever know.

hi Bob! Its your sis again...just wanted to tell you that the golf tournament we had in your name last weekend was a hit. Those guys were so great, people came from all over, Steve came too, and Chuck, it was really great.....I hope it raised lots of money for your scholarship fund. I golfed with Jen holly and Brit. I even fell out of a golf cart and hit my head on the ground. You would have been proud. Jen and I were shot gunning beers in the parking lot. Good times...we missed you though. You were the leader. Tracy took off on her cross country drive, so keep an eye out for her, keep her safe. Well, gotta run, rhetts team is playing tonight and if they lose they are eliminated...please help them win...give them a little good luck :) Love you bob. Youre the best. I miss you more than you know. love, Chrissy

Hi Bobby. Its your sis here :) I just wanted to drop a little note to you to say hi and that I am missing you very much today. Its hard being so far away from our family- I dont know how you did it the past few years. Everyone seems to be holding it together as best as they can. Its not the same without you and it never will be. I just wish I could have been there to say goodbye and tell you how much I love you...but you already knew, right? I tell you everyday...I hope you can hear me. Rhett has been so wonderful through all this. I wish you two had the chance to become good friends. But we will all meet again someday, and youll get that chance. Youre probably having tons of fun up there...Im sure you and my friend aaron are having a few beers and hanging out, telling stories and laughing at all of us down here. Im sure that Grandpa T and Grandma B are loving your company, they are so lucky to have you up there!! Im jealous :) Tracy is coming to visit me out in Calgary...im glad you gave me the chance to meet her, she is a wonderful friend and person....we all love her dearly. I hope God brings peace to all those suffering over the loss of such a wonderful man and soldier. You gave your life for our country and that is the ultimate sacrifice. We all salute you Captain. Watch over your little sis ok? And take care of mom and dad too...they are so proud of their son. I love you with all my heart...forever. Until we meet again. XOXO

To the Bager family:

Although I never met Bob until he came to our hospital as a patient, he jumped into my heart quickly with his beautiful smile and easy manner. What a beautiful person he was, both inside and out. Even though I know things were difficult for him, and at times he was not feeling good,he never forgot to say "Thank you". Although we see many soldiers thru here, some just tug at your heart and leave a little footprint behind. Bob was one of those. I will miss him, and continue to pray that God will wrap his arms around you for comfort.

Very Sincerely,

Kim AmRhein, RN

To the Bager Family,

I am deeply saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. We met freshman year at SUNY Brockport, and became close friends throughout our years together there. During that time we shared many laughs and happy memories that I will cherish forever.

Bob was admired by all who knew him, for his sense of humor, class, hard work ethic, and most of all his charismatic loving personality. He touched so many lives during his time… you have so much to be proud of.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. May god bless you during this time of sorrow.

Dear Dr. & Mrs. Bager,

I was fortunate enough to meet Bob at SUNY Brockport when he helped move my daughter Casey in as a freshman. My son Michael was a fraternity brother of his and had somehow talked him in to helping. I was impressed both by his willingness to help and his manners, which I am sure were a fine example of his upbringing. Michael is now in Iraq serving with the 3ID from Fort Stewart, Georgia. I know he is saddened by the loss of his friend and will never forget the memories of the times they shared. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family.

Dear Bill, Pat, and Chrissy,

Words cannot express the loss you feel at this time. But it is only time that separates you from Bob. Your love for him is eternal and that has been shown many times over. His legacy in the miltiary as well as a member of this community is what he has left as well as many family members and friends. But God has him now and all the pain and suffering has ended. Peace is what we pray for and Bob has found that peace. As he watches over you think of him as you see the first ray of sunlight each day and remember that Bob will be part of that always.

May God keep and bless you at this time.
