I wanted to add my sympathy to my sisters notes. Bob meant a great deal to Paul and I know in heaven both are laughing and maybe having a split club.

Dear Hamsik Family,
We are very sorry for your loss. It's hard to know what to say at this sad time because your loss is so great and because your father, father-in-law and grandfather will be missed in so many ways. No amount of time can prepare us for a loss and no one can fully understand your sorrow. But even though no words can truly comfort you, perhaps they can in some small way express the care and concern that's felt for you now. Many hearts are with you, hoping you will have the strength you need to see your through this difficult time. May memories keep your loved one always in your heart and mind. I looked forward to seeing him when he stopped in at DuPont. When he left after talking to me, he always gave me a hug and a kiss & told me he loved me. Bob was a great guy! You're in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Hamsik FAmily,
Your father meant so much to my brother,Paul. Their work together at Kenilworth FD as the Benevolent Committee and on split clubs enabled Paul to be an active part of the fire company even with his ill health.
Your father's visits to the house always began with a kiss to my mom and a "how's our boy today". His visits to hospitals and rehab centers always brought cheer into Paul's day.
Thank you for sharing that Paul visited your Dad shortly before he died. It brings comfort to us that Paul and Bob are continuing their friendship within God's embrace. (Though, we also wonder what mischief these two could be getting into!)
With loving memories and hopes for tomorrow, know that we are with you in your grief.

My father, a brother firefighter and fellow Yankees fan, looked forward to Bob's weekly visits to bring him communion and a Snickers bar at home. I know my father will miss those visits with Bob. God bless him, he was a wonderful and thoughtful man.

We will miss our Friend and Neighbor of 37 years. He always had a kind word for everyone.

It is difficult to find the words to express how truly sorry I am for the loss of your dad. My deepest sympathy goes out to your entire family.
Little did I know 30+ years ago when Mary Kay and I met, that your parents would welcome and embrace me as part of such a wonderful family. Dad #2 was so kind and caring and had a great sense of humor. I have so many wonderful memories of him that I will cherish. He meant so much to me and I love him very much. He was truly a second father to me and I will miss him dearly!
Love,

I moved a few houses down from Mr. Hamsik 17 years ago and what a wonderful neighbor he was. He was always so kind to me and my kids. We will miss him driving by and raising his 2 fingers in the peace sign. He is truly a loss to our neighborhood.

Dear Hamsik Family,
I am so sad to read this. On one of my last visits to Fairfield Avenue where I grew up, I had the pleasure of visiting with your Dad after your Mom had passed away. What a wonderful man. I always remember his presence on our block and the fire dept. at Christmas. May God bless you all and we will keep you in our prayers.

Bob was a good friend and neighbor of mine for nearly 40 years. As a brother firefighter his words of encouragement and his casual peace symbol ( holding up his 2 fingers ), will always be with me. He often prayed for me, and I for him through good and tough times. I will always have a warm spot in my heart to this dear man. May Jesus bless Bob and Mary as they become acquainted again. I pray the angels in heaven will watch over him and his family in this time of need.
