Of Clarence, NY, went home to Heaven at the age of 85. He was born to the late Roberta and Herman Lenz. He was lovingly raised by Herman and Ora Lee Lenz. He is survived by his dedicated wife Margarethe A. Vaughn Lenz; daughters Jenevieve Lenz (Evan) Miller, Abigail (Roger) Walters; their mother Judith Lenz; step-sons Jonathan and Charlie VanDette; granddaughters Evie Lenz Miller, Lydia Lenz Miller and Charlotte Walters; his sister Linda Cotherman; and predeceased by brother Allen Lenz. Robert was a veteran who served in the U.S Army. He was a distinguished entrepreneur and community advocate in the town of Clarence. He worked alongside his father Herman Lenz who owned and operated the Old Red Mill Inn for over a decade and established the Asa Ransom House in 1975. This historical Country Inn was owned and operated by the Lenz family until 2021. Robert dedicated himself with volunteer service to numerous organizations, including the Clarence Hollow Association, the JC's, Clarence Historical Society, NARP, Empire State Passenger Association and the Clarence Farmers Market. A celebration of life will be held in late March. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Clarence Farmers Market or Amtrak www.amtrak.com/about-amtrak-gives-back. So sorry to hear about Bob's death. Growing up in Clarence. I along with my father Albert and Uncle art knew Bob well. Asa Ransom was always my go-to place to stay on my trips to Clarence. Bob, Abby, George and Gracie were always welcoming and gave my wife and I very pleasant stay always . He well be missed by many people.

So sorry to hear about Robert´s passing. We would stay at the Asa Ransom house several times each year for many years and he was such a wonderful man. we always enjoyed talking to him and he was such a sweet man. Always loved being greeted by him and George at the front desk.
