Loft - Robert V., Sr. Robert Valentine "Bob" Loft, 84, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the American House - Bonita Springs. He had been a resident of Sarasota, FL for 28 years before moving to Bonita Springs in 1990. Bob was born July 7, 1932 in North Tonawanda, NY, a son of the late George and Mary (Klepaczka) Loft. He earned his Master's Degree at Buffalo State University. Mr. Loft retired from the United States Navy, where he served 40 years as Sr. Master Chief. Mr. Loft also retired from the Florida School System, where he was a counselor in Sarasota and Lee Counties. Bob was a faithful parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus and Bonita Springs Rotary. He and his wife were also heavily involved in Worldwide Marriage Encounter for over 30 years. Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years Joan Ellen (Coldicott) Loft; loving children, Robert Valentine Loft Jr. of Sarasota, FL, George Loft of Bonita Springs, FL, Victoria Loft of Sarasota, FL and Rebecca Blasucci of Bonita Springs, FL; brother and sister-in-law, John and June Loft of Melbourne, FL; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James Loft and Agnes Blanton. The family will receive on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 4:30-6:30 PM at SHIKANY'S BONITA FUNERAL HOME, 28300 Tamiami Trail So., Bonita Springs, FL 34134. A reception will immediately follow the visitation at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in the Fireside Room. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28290 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs, FL 34134. Burial will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 SR 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 at 1:30 PM. Online condolences may be offered
