"Doc" Milks was my scoutmaster at Trop 503 at St Mark's Church in Orchard Park. He was a quiet man who loved Boy Scouts and reminds me of what a real life Dumbledore would be like. In the forest there was no one better identifying trees, bird calls or flowers. And he had a wonderful sense of humor that showed up so unexpectedly that you sometimes didn't know it was there until it was gone.
He was a master story teller. You'd think teenaged boys would not want to be read a story while going to sleep at night, but during Winter Camps he would read at night. The next morning everyone would be putting the story together to find out what we missed.
Good night, Doc.
