Remembering Mr. Pocholski brings to mind his unique pedagogical approach to learning. I will always greatly appreciate the discipled discipline of a private school and the life long advantages it brings.
April 8, 2019
I knew Mr. Pocholski in High School when I was 16/17 years old. I also grew up on Buffalo's ethnocentric east side speaking Polish/ German. I was ran Cross country and track, and he was our coach.
From the Death notice, I learned He did a law degree. I think there are some serious conflicts, not much cooperation, and a lot of Polarization between Law and Education. If He were alive today, I wonder.
I think he would have encouraged some sense Harmony.

Thinking of Bob and his family and sending prayers of peace and comfort. Bob was a good friend of my father, uncle and aunt. He was very kind to me when I was first out of college and trying to find a job. I remember that kindness each time I do the same for a college student, who like me just needs some guidance as to how to find a job.

We cannot think of Bob without thinking of his beloved Sue, and how together they touched so many lives by their generousity and friendship. They were forever hosting events, track meets, community charities, political get-togethers and church functions, all for the benefit of others. Bob's raspy voice could always be heard above the crowd, cajoling and encouraging others to do their best, whatever that might be. His love of God and his Church, together with his love of family, epitomize his life. We will dearly miss our friend. Melanie Cyganowski, Sophia Cyganowski (now 94), Daniel & Ken LeBrun.

His personal history as presented in his memoriam was terrific and that was mirrored by his personality. I was glad I had the opportunity to spend some time with him in Feb. His sincerity for SFHS was only exceeded by his integrity in everything he did. That unmistakeable voice will always resonate with me. His death is a great loss to all who knew him. It was a privilege to have known him.

Mr. P, among other things was the sponsor for our junior prom. As a committee member I had decided not to go, but he bought my ticket so I had to go! I have told this story many times and have never forgotten his generosity. He also put me on a relay team with Traylor, Wishman and Migliore that attained All Catholic honors and I thank him for that also. May you rest in peace Bob.

Yep, I remember Mr. P. To this day whenever I see or hear anything about Copernicus I remember how to say the great Polish astronomer's name correctly in Polish thanks to Mr. P. He was a pillar of Catholic boys' education in the Buffalo Diocese, a great role model, firm, fair, and with a great sense of humor. We of the Cardinal Dougherty Class of '73 will never forget him.

Uncle Bob:
I paraphrase St. Paul when I say You have fought the good fight, finished the last race (and coached so many others victoriously) and indeed kept the faith and spread it by the example of your life. Thank you Uncle Bob for being the outstanding example of a true Renaissance man.
An extra special thank you for your Tuesday muffin treats.
