To the Schaefer Family, Bob was the epitome of a great teacher and person. He spent his lifetime in service to his country and to others. He was my baseball coach at Williamsville Central (now South). Many years after graduation we connected once again, and I'm so very glad we did. Bob had a profound impact on my life. I know he was a man of great faith in the Lord and he is in the presence of the Lord he loved now and for eternity. Blessings and sincere sympathy to the entire Schaefer family. Well done faithful servant! Dr. kevin Leman, Tucson, Az

I am very saddened because I can't personally say, "Good Bye" to Bob. I am retired after 34 years of service at Mill Middle. Although I never worked directly for Mr. Schaefer, I respected and admired him immensely. As a high school basketball coach in the late 1960's and early 70's, I used Heim's gym all winter long including weekends. We had a harmonious relationship as he trusted me with keys and I kept the towels picked up, showers off and lights out. For years afterwards and on the infrequent times that we met, including Bob's service as an altar server, during funeral masses at Christ the King;he always warmly greeted me and asked me about my family members and my work. He was truly one of a kind and I'll always remember him as such.

Bob was a dedicated Vincentian for as long as I can recall. His compassion and humor will be missed by not only his fellow members but our guests as well. Our prayers are with his family.

Mr. Schaefer was an amazing person. He was my principal at Heim Middle School back in the 1970's. I will always remember Mr. Schaefer as a respected and dedicated professional. Students respected him and his leadership style too. Williamsville Central Schools was very fortunate to have Robert Schaefer as a teacher and as the first principal of Heim Middle School. I'll always remember the administrative team of Mr.Schaefer and Mr.Snyder. Their leadership guided many others to greatness. We lost another outstanding example of the "Greatest Generation". My sincere sympathy to Mrs. Schaefer and her entire family.
