Roberta DRURY Obituary
May 14, 2022. Grew up in Cicero, NY. She attended CNS. For the past ten years she lived in Buffalo, NY, tending to her brother who is recovering from a battle with leukemia. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially the annual family trips to Wildwood, NJ. Roberta will be missed by many, her heart was so big, and everyone was in her family. She couldn't walk a few steps without meeting a new friend. She made sure every single person in the room was having a great time, ready to laugh and hug at a moment's notice. She is survived by her mother, Leslie (Richard) VanGiesen and father, Philip (Jeanie) Drury; grandfather, John Traeger; siblings, Christopher (Theia) Moyer, Daniel (Ashly) Moyer, Amanda (Steve) Drury, Nicole VanGiesen, Brett (Kimberlyn) VanGiesen; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be Friday, May 20, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 812 North Salina Street, on Saturday, May 21, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Roberta's honor to the Buffalo Zoo, 300 Parkside Ave., Buffalo, NY 14214.

Since we share a name, I feel a strong connection to her, and will continue to pray for her, and you--her family. She seems to have been a beautiful person, and --if we had ever met in this life--I'm sure we would have been friends! Until me meet in Heaven, be at peace my namesake.

I would like to take this difficult and trying time to offer my condolences to the families of the shooting at Top's. As if this city does not have enough problems. We are living in such extreme and radical times. It's like whatever happened to the middle ground? As you all know my dad and my family had the meat store on 1481 East Delavan from 1985 to 2003. I was always scared living in the city then above the store, but now......Everybody take care. We are all one and God is watching. Poor dad got Alzheimer's and that was the end of the store. Living in Clarencen at Brothers apartments now since 2013 #208. Hope you all take care. Use to deliver meat to all your houses. My phone 716 580 0794. I remember pearl especially. I believe she belonged to St.. John's Baptist Church. Remember her and Joyce Livingston. Unfortunately have no car now to go any where....Later......
