of Alden, NY passed away suddenly on July 7, 2024. Loving husband of Pamela (nee Graczyk) Erny; dear father of Casey (AJ) Chenoweth and Cortney (Jay) Young; grandfather of Hudson Farrese; brother of Sandra Erny, Jeffrey Erny and the late Judith (Dennis) Walter; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will be present at the CHARLES MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 13228 Broadway Alden, NY on Thursday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Town Line Lutheran Church Alden, NY Friday at 10 AM. Memorials may be made to the Alden American Legion Post 1377. Roger was employed at Moog, Inc. in Industrial Sales and was an active leader at the Alden American Legion. Share your condolences at meyerfuneralhome.com

I remember when Roger was one of the “big “ kids when we were neighbors on Exchange Street years ago. He was a kind hearted guy back then and he stayed that way. I am going to miss chatting with him when I’d see him around town. My brother Bob and I are so sorry for your loss.

Roger was an amazing man with a huge hear! Whether I was running into him at Tops or we were at a party at the legion, he was an amazing man! He was always helping someone out. He helped us 5 years ago when we were looking to throw a benefit for a local boy with cancer. He gave us the legion for no cost, and helped us with whatever we needed. He didn’t want any money for us renting the legion, and we were so thankful.
Not only did he live around the corner from my parents, he also worked with my father at Moog. They would banter and tell jokes and they would meet up for breakfast, or join each other if they both wound up at the same restaurant to eat at. My father took Roger’s passing with extreme sadness as he knows how important he was at Moog!
Rest easy Rog, we got it now down here. You job on earth is done. You will be missed by our whole community!!!

Roger was always a great guy to joke with and enjoy the work day. He would always swing into my area just to say hi and crack a good joke. We were great work buddies. He will be very missed and I hope he rests in peace. Rest easy Rog.

My sincere condolences to the Erny family. I have known Roger since kindergarten. He was a true friend. I watched his daughters grow up and knew how proud he was of them. May you rest in peace my friend and know that you will be missed.

Although I did not know Roger on a personal level, he always treated me with respect and kindness. He was a joy to be around and to talk to at work. He had a ton of wisdom and jokes for days. The news of his passing hits hard and gives me a pain I can't shake. My deepest condolences go to the Erny family! He truly was "the salt of the earth".

My deepest condolences to the entire Erny family. Besides graduating from Alden together, we also attended ECC together. We had a great time and probably too much fun as well. A lot of years have passed, but the sadness of his passing is genuine and heartfelt. God's blessings to all of you.

I was so stocked to hear about Roger. Growing up across the street as a child, I would go actoss the street and hangout with Roger and his dad fixing a mower or a bike. At times I needed to run and have them fix something us kids broke before my dad got home. As i grew up everytime we saw each other we would as catch up. His dad would 've been so proud of all he has done for Alden with the Legion and the Kiwanis Club over the years. Roger was so proud of his family. I will miss seeing Roger around. Roger was one of the kindest, sweetest funniest guys I knew since childhood. He will be greatly missed by many.
