September 28, 2022, of Buffalo, NY, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease, she was 89. Loving wife of the late Dr. James W. McKinnon; dearest mother of Rita McKinnon, of Alexandria, VA, James (Natalie) McKinnon, of Buffalo, Mary (Tim) McConnell, of Clarence, Paula (Anthony) Viscogliosi, of New York City and the late Neil. J. (Dawn) McKinnon; cherished grandmother of Joel (Lisa) McKinnon, Sophia Lajaunie, Aurianna Lajaunie, Sarah (Tom) Karanas, James McKinnon, Brooke McKinnon, Christine McConnell, Liam McConnell and Gabriel Viscogliosi; cherished great-grandmother of Alana, Ahnyah and Lucas Neil; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Sally was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, and graduated from Niagara University in 1955, where she met her beloved husband, James. She worked many years at Canisuis College, where she was an Administrative Assistant, was a dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels and longtime member and volunteer at Canopy of Neighbors. She had a passion for music throughout her life. She retired and resided in the heart of Buffalo, her beloved city, and enjoyed playing rummy with family and friends, sharing her playful and spirited nature with others. She died peacefully at home with family and her caring senior aides. There will be no prior visitation. Arrangements by the AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from St. Joseph University Parish, 3269 Main Street, Buffalo, at 12 PM.
