My deepest sympathies go out to the Saia family. I worked as a legal secretary for 20 yrs. beginning in 1978 and Sam was always the "go to guy" when you needed the best process server in town. He always had a kind word and smile for everyone and was truly one of the nicest men I have met in my life. He will be missed by many, and remembered by all of us for a lifetime. I feel blessed to have had to the pleasure of knowing him during my legal career.

I first met Sam in 1978 when I began practicing law with the firm of Gannon and Gannon.
He was a wonderful man. He did the service of process for the Gannon firm.
I started my own firm in 1980 and would always look forward to chatting with Sam when I saw him downtown.
Sam was one of the nicest, and most interesting people I have known.
I will miss Sam.

I'm truly saddened by the news of Sam's passing, but I know the angels are glad to have him. Seeing and talking with Sam always brightened my day. He was a truly good soul and I cherish our talks at Phillips Lytle. May God be with you, his family, during this difficult time. I will never forget Sam.

Dear Family and Friends -- Please accept my sincere expression of sympathy on Sam's passing. I first met Sam when I was hired by Jaeckle Fleischman & Mugel 37 years ago. As a impressionable twenty-something, I remember being appalled at the fact that someone doing something as important as process serving would appear so casually attired with a shopping bag substituting for a briefcase. (Remember, this was the 60s). However, I soon came to realize that his appearance was what made him so successful. Who would suspect that the little guy in the faded sportshirt carrying his "matched luggage from Sattler's" was an extension of the long arm of the law. That was just one of many things I learned from Sam during the many years that I served as the firm's collection paralegal, and Sam as my processor server. He also taught me a lot about the right way of "dealing with the public," and he did so by example. Thinking back, I do not ever remember a time when he was irritable or sarcastic. His appearance in the office always brought a smile from everyone he passed and greeted in the hall. Knowing how many happy memories I have of "life with Sam," I can only imagine your treasure trove. May they sustain all of you over the difficult days ahead. Sincerely,

Sam has been serving papers for me for the past 30+ years. I have changed law firms but never changed process servers. He was a kind, considerate and caring man who I considered to be a friend as well as a co-worker. What will I ever do without him? He was good-looking too."

Dear Family and Friends:
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I'm sure you must know there are so many of us sharing your grief right now. Sam was such a vibrant personality, such a "character". I met him while working at Lipsitz Green and he quickly became my favorite process server (how could he not!!??) And when I came to Cohen & Lombardo, he came along with me (well he was already "here" when I got here as some other smart girls in the office had him pegged as their favorite process server too:)!! Words can't express how much he will be missed! But I have a lot of fond memories to keep him alive in my heart. I'm sure we all do. Hold them close! Hugs and kisses to the grandkids!!

I first met Sam 22 years ago when I joined Hiscock & Barclay. I will truly miss my friend, his jokes, stories and smile. As a novice to litigation, Sam taught me the rules of proper service of legal papers. When Sam had my papers for service, I never had to worry about a thing. He made that part of my job easy. Literally, Sam could find and serve anyone. The “deadbeats” were pretty shocked when the little man in a Hawaiian shirt, carrying a shopping bag handed them a dreaded Summons and Complaint.
I will miss sharing family events and life changes with him. I feel as though I know every member of the family because Sam was always so proud and talked so lovingly of them, especially of his sweetheart, Judy, whom he was so in love with, and had told me so, many times. I loved hearing his World War II stories and how he met Judy.
Sam is a great loss to the legal community and I, personally, will never forget him.
