Age 88, passed away peacefully in Hamburg, NY. Born in Rhinebeck, NY, Sally was a beacon of light and laughter to all who knew her. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit were the hallmark of her presence, leaving a lasting impact on her community and loved ones. Sally's early years were spent in the scenic town of Rhinebeck, where she cultivated her lifelong values of family and education. Her academic journey led her to Cedar Crest College, where she not only honed her intellect but also nurtured friendships that would last a lifetime and she would find the love of her life. As a wonderful mother, Sally dedicated her life to her family with an unwavering love and devotion. She was the cherished wife of the late David Saunders, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. Together, they raised three children: Scott (Lynn), Mark (Cindy), and Cheryl (Scott). Sally's role as a mother was one of her greatest joys, and she embraced every moment with grace and enthusiasm. Sally's family was her world, and she took immense pride in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren, Matt (Katie), Shane, Molly (Ryan), Scotty, Vonde, Derrick, Brad (Daniele), and Christian, brought her immeasurable happiness. She was also a doting great-grandmother to Sloan, Sadie, and Reese. Her legacy of love and laughter will undoubtedly be passed down through the generations. Known for her funny, loving, and friendly nature, Sally touched the lives of many. Her quick wit and infectious smile were a source of joy and comfort to her friends and family. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved, a trait that endeared her to all.

Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Friends and family are invited to join us on November 16th at 11:00. The memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 261 E Main St., Hamburg, NY. A reception will follow at Johnson's Landing. 4040 Lake Shore Rd., Hamburg, NY.
