Warren Bower Obituary

BOWER - Warren A. Age 82, of North Greenbush, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at the VA Medical Center Hospital in Albany. Born in Angola, NY, he lived in the capital region for several years prior to his retiring from NYS Dept. of Social Services. He had been a Missionary to North Africa. Warren was also a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Fern (Congdon) Bower; he is survived by his wife, Barbara (Phillips) Bower of North Greenbush; three daughters, Charis Bower, Aleithia Bower and Noha Bower; a son, Doc Bower; three sisters, Winifred Wright, Eleanor Luehrs, Marilyn Lautensack and a brother, Ernest Bower; also survived by three grandchildren, Amanda and Vivian Zielinski and Ben Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours and Interment Services will be private at the convenience of the family in Blooming Grove Cemetery, N. Greenbush, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service, Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the Lake Ave. Community Church in Averill Park. The family has requested that those who wish to remember Warren make memorial contributions to Gideon Society, 2 Arnold Ave., Latham, NY 12110 in his memory.

I am greatful for the times that I got to spend with Warren and Bobbie on the farm at the family reunions. He has been a inspiration to me in the genology part of the family. Thank you for sharing your family knowledge with me. I hope to be able to share it with anyone intersted.. May you rest in peace in Heaven with Aunt Fern and Uncle Henry and also with your brother. Aunt Bobbie,

I am glad that Uncle Warren led such a full and inspiring life. I am grateful for his council and insight on life.

While I know we will miss him, I also know where he is and that I shall see him again in the future.

May God provide you, Charis, Kim, Thia, and Noha peace at this time.

Mrs. Bower,
I only had a chance to know Warren for a short time. However in that time he became a good friend. He was an encouragement to me both personally and in ministry. I am grateful for the opportunity to know him.
