Entered into rest October 7th, 2023. Son of the Late William C. Grotke Sr. and Pearl (nee. Wetzel). Cousin of Joseph Karnath, Eileen Nowak and William Karnath. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 20th, 2023 at 1pm at St. Rosa of Lima Church, 500 Parker Ave, Buffalo, NY. Please assemble at church. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Catholic Charities in William's memory. Online condolences may be made at http://www.TheDietrichFuneralHome.com.

Had Mr. Grotke for 4 years of Latin. Not a more dedicated soul out there, superb human being. Was always at all the sports outings no matter how far, he found a way to get there. Became friends post-school years, I cherish the memories. Rest easy now Mr. Latin.

Mr. Grotke was a good man who was my Latin teacher and freshman year home room teacher at Canisius HS. So sorry to hear of your passing Mr. G.

HIS GREATEST MARK OF SERVICE WAS AS A LATIN TEACHER AT CANISIUS HIGH WHERE HE INFLUENCED MANY STUDENTS POSITIVELY OVER THE YEARS! Mr. Grotke was my Latin teacher for all 4 years at CHS. He achieved the improbable...he made Latin fun! A very dedicated professional who was also a fixture at all our athletic events. It was a great pleasure running into him when my own sons played basketball, baseball and volleyball for St. Francis vs CHS and later, vs St Joe´s. RIP Mr. Grotke, and thank you for caring so much about your job. You made a difference!
